February 2017
4th – Alan Barnes + John Hallam + Tom Kincaid Trio – one of the most enjoyable combinations of musicians we are privileged to present. Two superb saxophonists join together with the sublime piano and rhythm sounds of the Tom Kincaid Trio £10
11th – Happy Valley Dixieland Stompers – as the name suggests, the cheerful sounds of the ‘20s and onwards from this professional group led by ace cornet/trumpet player. Darren Lloyd. A six piece on this occasion to recreate the sounds of Louis, Jelly Roll, King Oliver, Bix and the like.
18th – Boston Spa Real Ale Festival. Ron Burnett’s Mardi Gras Quartet will be entertaining the assembled throng on Saturday afternoon.
25th – Chicago Teddy Bears with John Hallam – Always a rip roaring session of traditional jazz full of fun and banter and with the added bonus of John Hallam on reeds.
March 2017
4th – Alex Welsh Remembered featuring Enrico Tomasso, Roy Williams, John Burgess and Tom Kincaid. An all star line up with the addition of Tony Pitt on banjo/guitar, Bill Coleman on bass and Jack Coterill on drums re-creating the sounds of the legendary Alex Welsh Band. £10
11th – Dave Mott’s Jazz Classics – a highly professional and versatile group led by maestro Dave on reeds. The group includes young trumpet star Jamie Brownfield. Traditional jazz plus the standards coupled with vocals from the delightful Suzanne.
18th – Amy Roberts/John Hallam Quintet – one of the annual highlights with two of our most respected reeds players. They are guaranteed to serve up a delectable miscellany of the standards. £10
25th – Tame Valley Stompers – a warm welcome to our visitors from Cheshire. Led by one of the most respected Northern trombone players, the group is dedicated to unabashed traditional jazz - but with an wry sense of humour. Terry’s version of Ory’s Creole Trombone is legendary.
