Matt Anderson's new album

Leeds College alumnus Matt Anderson has released a new video of his group the Matt Anderson Quartet. It’s the first in a series of four videos he's calling the ‘St. Mark’s Series’ which will be released over the coming month.

The quartet features Matt on tenor saxophone, Ashley Henry on piano, Will Harris on double-bass and Jay Davis on drums. Jay and Ashley are fellow LCoM alumni

The band puts an emphasis on original writing, with arrangements often conceived together as a group, and takes inspiration from sources as wide-ranging as Wayne Shorter, folk music of the British Isles, the European jazz scene and groove/rock music. During our time at the Academy we have also received coaching as a band from F-IRE Collective founder Barak Schmool.
