"Even though it’s still August, it’s not too early to start thinking about what’s coming up when summer’s over ... and at Sheffield Jazz we’ve lined up a great new season to bring you the very best in contemporary jazz !

The Sheffield Millennium Hall season kicks off on Friday 2nd October with European stars Kit Downes and his trio followed the week after by Liam Noble in a rare opportunity to see him playing solo.
 
 Up-and-coming innovators who are pushing the boundaries are also represented by the Alice Zawadzki Band and Sheffield-favourites Empirical, and  in November we’re pleased to welcome international star Andy Sheppard and his quartet and from the USA the New York Standards Quartet.
   
Away from Millennium Hall, in November the Beats & Pieces Big Band return after their brilliant sell-out gig in 2014, this time at Sheffield University Students Union.

And we’re pleased that we can put on two gigs at the Crucible Studio – Jean Toussaint’s Blakey Project in October and to round the season off in December, the Mingus Profiles Sextet, featuring Chris Biscoe and Tony Kofi.
