Seven Jazz in Leeds springs into summer with a June programme featuring Bistol's "Moonlight Saving Time", rising young Leeds vocal star Nel Begley, top tenorman Joel Purnell, award winning Spanish jazz pianist Victor Gutierrez and a new nine piece band from bassist Thomas Maddison

Victor Gutierrez is an award-winning Spanish jazz pianist and composer who has worked with many world-class musicians and producers. His jazz trio contributes to the long piano trio tradition by paying tribute to some of the most famous piano trios in history, like Bill Evans, Kenny Barron, Keith Jarrett, Brad Mehldau or Michel Petrucciani  £7/5

Sunday afternoon June 14: The Jazz Jam returns!@Inkwell 1.30 -4pm
After a couple of months break the Seven jazz jam is back - bring your horn, your axe, voice or just come and listen to the fun. NThe SC3 rhythm section this time will feature Martin Longhawn on keyboards and Tim Carter on drums. £7/5

Top tenor sax man and jazz educator Joel Purnell "Red Shift" - one of the north's longest established groups in the north. The band showcases an exhilarating collaboration of like-minded and highly experienced jazz musicians inspired by the American jazz masters of past and present.

Led by Bristol-based singer Emily Wright, Moonlight Saving Time have been receiving great critical acclaim for performances throughout the UK including the Brecon, Cheltenham and Oxford jazz festivals. They play popular standards arranged in a very interesting way. Support is from Nel Begley’s  Ensemble Nel Begley vocals, Aleks Podraza piano, Roz MacDonald bass Ollie Goss drums and Andy Hays on sax - cuban and traditional Brazilian based music with a modern take on the style.

Nine piece contemporary jazz ensemble organised by talented Leeds bassist Tom Maddison and featuring the best of the young musicians from the Leeds scene - Harry Orme guitar, Will Howard - Flute and Tenor, Simon Dennis - Trumpet and Flugel, Jack Chandler – Alto, Peter Johnson – Trombone, Tom Maddison - Double Bass and composition
