Leeds has got the blues with the second Blues Festival BLUESFEST14 this coming July held at Seven Arts and Inkwell venues in Chapel Allerton, Leeds
Sarah Gillespie starts off the festival at Seven Arts with her "Life of Bessie Smith" - Thursday evening 3 July 8pm.

An evening of authentic Chicago blues from The Giantkillers follows at Seven Arts on Thursday evening 10 July 8pm.
The Giantkillers are all sidemen to great blues artists. It's a gathering of great players, who've played with the best, and who all happen to be great mates. James O'Hara guitar/vocals, Paul Corry sax, Dean Beresford drums, Matt Foundling keys, Richard Hammond bass. Tickets £12/10 concessions
Steve Phillips is an English traditional blues and country musician, mainly renowned for being part of the supergroup Notting Hillbillies along with the Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler and Brendan Croker. Steve Phillips is on guitar and vocals, Chris Parkinson accordion, Burt Sawdon double bass, Jack Gibson drums. Tickets £12/10 concessions
And the festival finale is the one man show of blues guitarist extra-ordinaire Big Boy Bloater at Inkwell on Sunday afternoon 13 July 1pm.
Big Boy Bloater is a well-known figure on the blues and roots music scenes around the world – his unique and powerful style has thrilled audiences from London to Las Vegas and his peformances have built an enviable profile and following. Tickets £10/8 concessions. Kids under 16 free
