Jazz this Autumn at the Capstone Theatre, Liverpool includes a series of Friday evening concerts by a truly international selection of artists.
On Friday 18th October pianist/composer John Law brings his
Recreations band to the venue in a concert featuring Parliamentary Jazz Award
winner Sam Crockatt on saxophones. Recreations is an acoustic quartet that
focuses on creating innovative new jazz standards from the music of pop and
indie artists such as Radiohead, Daft Punk and The Beatles.
On Friday 8th
November a French duo consisting of pianist Jean-Marie Machado and accordionist
Didier Ithursarry present a concert of original music for piano and accordion
and on Friday 15th November Luxembourgish piano trio Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen,
effectively Joshua Redman's band, present a set of original compositions
inspired by classical music and pop.
Finally, on Friday 22nd November Norwegian
sax ace Marius Neset brings his quintet to the theatre to present music from
his latest album Circle of Chimes (ACT 2017).
