Frank Brooker 8 July
From Les and the Team at Boston Spa
8th – Frank Brooker’s Happy Chappies – now here’s one of our favourite local groups. Our hero, Frank on reeds, leads a line up of some of Yorkshire’s finest including Greg Wadman on trumpet, Jim Wright on banjo/guitar Phil Kampen on bass and all driven along by our favourite drummin’ man Rod McNamara. Happy Chappies equals happy sounds!
15th – Manhattan Sound Big Band with Michaela Smith – and to play our part in the 2017 Boston Spa Festival Weekend, we are delighted to present again the big band which you so thoroughly enjoyed last summer. Wonderful, expansive sounds coupled with oodles of nostalgia and with the added bonus of Michaela Smith on vocals. £10
22nd – Sorry – No Jazz
29th – Pedigree Jazz Band – otherwise, a “Salute to Trad Jazz 2017.” This tribute to the famous UK Trad bands of the late 50s and 60s is led by musician and broadcaster Chris Walker on reeds, Andy Chislett on trumpet and Tony Mann on trombone with rhythm accompaniment. As befits his other calling, always a highly professional and informative presentation from Chris Walker. £10
Thanks for your Support – it’s what keeps music live! Why not bring along a friend, neighbour or relative – we’d love to meet them!
