Latest Northern Line bands announced
Jazz North's successful "Northern Line" latest list of bands have just been announced. They give jazz promoters affordable opportunities of booking some of the best bands in the region, while those bands get opportunities to get heard by a wider range of audiences. Most Norvoljazz network promoters - both clubs and festivals - have booked Northern Line bands in previous rounds - they offer a very welcome support to our northern jazz scene.
USHAW ENSEMBLE (Newcastle)
Paul Edis’ was commissioned by Ushaw College and Durham Cathedral to compose for septet – pitching improvisers alongside Northumbrian pipes and violin – melding his forte in modern jazz with traditional music from the north east.

PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE (Leeds/Sheffield)

UBUNYE (Leeds/Huddersfield)
