Swing Manouche at Durham's Empty Shop

Mick Shoulder’s Swing ManoucheThursday 17th December

Mick Shoulder / Giles Strong – guitars, Paul Edis – clarinet, Neil Harland – double bass

Taking their name from the Parisian jazz manouche of the 1930s, expect gypsy jazz standards, classic Reinhardt and authentic originals. Light hearted and whimsical, sometimes aching with melancholy, the musical genre has undergone a tremendous resurgence in popularity recently for its sophisticated yet sentimental sound and swinging le pompe rhythm.

Doors from 7pm // Music starts at 8pm // £5 / £4 students -  pay on the door

Venue: Empty Shop
35c Framwellgate Bridge Durham DH14SZ
