Ravi Coltrane and more at HAR


Four dates this Spring at the Leeds Howard Assembly Room are of particular interest to jazz and blues fans

Wednesday 28 January 7.45pm
Saharan guitarist and singer Omara ‘Bombino’ Moctar performs tracks from his critically acclaimed blues album Nomad. Bombino’s intensity and unflashy brilliance make this is an unmissable performance.

Saturday 7 February 7.45pm
June Tabor joins forces with pioneering jazz musicians Iain Ballamy (saxophone) and Huw Warren (piano) to perform tales of courtship and traditional songs, effortlessly moving between folk and jazz.

Wednesday 11 March 7.45pm
Following in his father’s footsteps, jazz royalty Ravi Coltrane performs tracks from his new album "Spirit Fiction" which encompasses his huge artistic legacy and distinct vision.

Thursday 12 March 7.45pm
Norwegian jazz trumpeter Arve Henriksen’s exploration of the instrument’s possibilities shows no limits. In this special UK performance, he brings the improvising spirit of his album "Places of Worship" to life, alongside long-term collaborator Jan Bang and visual artist Anastasia Isachsen.
